Accessibility Statement

Everyone deserves access to support. We want BeeWell to be usable by as many people as possible, whatever their abilities or the technology they use.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This statement applies to the BeeWell platform at beewell.today, operated by BeeWell Therapy Solutions Limited, Ireland. It explains the accessibility standard we aim to meet, where we currently fall short, and how to get help or report a problem.

1

Our Standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard referenced by EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act.

Conformance status: partially conformant. Most of the platform meets the standard, but some parts do not yet fully conform — see Known Limitations below. This assessment is based on our own internal review; we have not yet commissioned an independent audit.

Using BeeWell Your Way

BeeWell is designed so that you can adapt it to your needs. You should be able to:

  • Zoom in with your browser up to 400% — on narrow screens the layout reflows into a single column instead of scrolling sideways.
  • Use your browser's or operating system's text size, colour, contrast and dark-mode settings.
  • Navigate with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page.
  • Use a screen reader such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack.
  • Use voice control or switch access through your device's built-in accessibility features.

AbilityNet's My Computer My Way has step-by-step guides to making your device easier to use.

3

What We Do

Accessibility is part of how we design and build BeeWell, including:

Semantic structure

Headings, landmarks and lists so screen readers can navigate pages, plus a skip link to bypass the navigation.

Keyboard access

Core flows — searching, booking, messaging, account settings — work without a mouse.

Resizable text

Text scales with browser zoom and font settings without loss of content.

Mobile friendly

Responsive layouts that work on phones and tablets in either orientation.

Text alternatives

Meaningful images and icons have text labels or alternatives.

Accessible components

Forms, dialogs and menus are built on components that follow WAI-ARIA patterns.

4

Known Limitations

We know about the following issues and are working to address them:

  • Map search

The interactive map is difficult to use with a keyboard or screen reader. The same therapists are always available in the list view alongside the map, which is fully accessible.

  • Therapist-supplied content

Profile photos, descriptions and other content written by therapists may not always include text alternatives or plain language.

  • Blog images

Some older blog posts may have images without descriptive alternative text.

If something here stops you from using BeeWell, contact us and we will help you complete what you need another way — for example, finding a therapist or booking a session by email.

5

Third-Party Services

Some parts of the service are provided by third parties. We choose providers that publish accessibility commitments, but we do not control their interfaces:

  • Google Meet — Video sessions — Meet offers live captions you can switch on during a call
  • Stripe — Payment and checkout
  • Google reCAPTCHA — Bot protection on sign-up
  • Google Calendar — Therapist availability and invitations

If a third-party service causes you difficulty, let us know and we will look for an alternative arrangement with you and your therapist.

6

Physical Access to Therapy Premises

This statement covers the BeeWell website. Therapists on BeeWell are independent professionals who run their own practices, so physical access to premises for face-to-face sessions — such as step-free entry, lifts, accessible toilets or parking — is the responsibility of each therapist, not BeeWell.

If you have access requirements, please check with the therapist before booking, using the chat or the contact form on their profile. Many therapists also offer online sessions, which you can attend from home.

7

Feedback and Help

We welcome your feedback. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, need information in a different format, or have a suggestion, please contact us:

Email:

Please tell us the page or feature involved, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and any assistive technology you use. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

8

If You Are Not Satisfied

If you are not happy with how we respond to an accessibility problem, please tell us so we can escalate it internally. If it is still not resolved, you can contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), which oversees accessibility requirements for consumer services in Ireland.

Review of This Statement

We review this statement at least once a year and whenever we make significant changes to the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
